Grade Seven Prayers, Basic Beliefs, and Practices
Nicene Creed We believe in one God the Father,
the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only
Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten not made, one
in Being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation He came down from
heaven; by the power of the Holy Spirit He was born of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake He was crucified
under Pontius Pilate; He suffered, died and was buried. On the third day He rose again in fulfillment of the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living
and the dead, and His kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds
from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son He is worshipped and glorified. He has spoken through
the prophets. We believe in one holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness
of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.
Prayer
of the Holy Spirit (Come Holy Spirit) Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and rekindle in them the fire
of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created, and you shall renew the face of the earth.
Let us pray: O God, by the light of the Holy Spirit you have taught the hearts of your faithful. In the same
Spirit, help us to know what is truly right and always to rejoice in your consolation. We ask this through Christ ,
Our Lord. Amen.
Angelus The Angel of the Lord declared unto Mary. And she conceived of the Holy
Spirit. Hail Mary, etc. Behold the handmaid of the Lord. Be it done to me according to thy word. Hail
Mary, etc. And the Word was made flesh. And dwelt among us. Hail Mary, etc. V. Pray for us, O Holy Mother
of God. R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. Let us pray - Pour forth, we
beseech thee, O Lord, thy grace into our hearts; that we, to whom the Incarnation of Christ, thy Son, was made known by the
message of an angel, may by his Passion and Cross be brought to the glory of his Resurrection. Through the same Christ,
our Lord. Amen.

Grade Eight Prayers, Basic Beliefs, and Practices
Prayer of St. Francis/Prayer for Peace
Lord,
make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where
there is doubt, faith; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy.
Grant that I
may not so much seek to be consoled as to console, to be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love; for it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, And it is in dying that we are born
to eternal life.
The Magnificat (Mary’s Prayer)
My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, my
spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant. From this day all generations
will call me blessed: the Almighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name. He has mercy on those who
fear him in every generation. He has shown the strength of his arm, he has scattered the proud in their conceit.
He has cast down the mighty from their thrones, and has lifted up the lowly. He has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich he has sent away empty. He has come to the help of his servant Israel for he has remembered his promise
of mercy, the promise he made to our fathers, to Abraham and his children forever. Glory to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.
Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. In verdant pastures he gives me repose; beside restful waters he leads
me; he refreshes my soul. He guides me in right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk in the dark
valley, I fear no evil; for you are at my side. With your rod and staff that give me courage. You spread the table
before me in the sight of my foes; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Only goodness and kindness follow
me all the days of my life; and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord for years to come.
Confiteor
I
confess to almighty God and to you, my brothers and sisters that I have sinned through my own fault, in my thoughts and in
my words, in what I have done and what I have failed to do. And I ask Blessed Mary, ever Virgin, all the angels and
saints, and you my brothers and sisters, to pray for me to the Lord our God. May almighty God have mercy on us, forgive
us our sins and bring us to life everlasting. Amen.
